To inspire, empower, and eliminate barriers in STEM education—ensuring that every student, from rural towns to inner cities, first-generation learners to future leaders, has the tools to dream big and create boldly. Our mission is to make quality learning accessible to all—regardless of age, gender, location, or socioeconomic background. We focus especially on underrepresented groups in STEM, such as girls, first-generation students, and those with limited access to educational resources.

Through inclusive programs, mentorship, outreach, and student-led leadership, we’re redefining what opportunity looks like in STEM.

At First Step Forward, we design and deliver free STEM workshops, courses, events, and mentorship programs aimed at equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed. All of our programming is created and led by students, for students—bringing fresh energy, relatability, and peer-based support into STEM learning. Our workshops focus on hands-on projects, real-world problem solving, and creativity. Whether it’s building simple machines, learning to code, experimenting with chemistry, or exploring the wonders of space, we aim to show students that STEM is not only educational—it’s exciting, empowering, and within reach.
